Tommy was my best friend in high school and for many years after high school, even though our lives went in very different directions.  If you got to know him, you realized that he was a very deep and caring person, aside from enjoying a good time.  I was with Tommy in a hospital in Galveston for almost a week just before he passed away, and up to his last living day he kept his infectious smile and humor.  We laughed and reminisced about past pranks, girls and times on his ranch.  We also cried a little and said farewell until we meet again on the other side.  The world is not a better place without him; God needed a good person.

Doug,

Thank you so much for the memory about our friend Tommy Anderson and being with him.  I know you two were the best of friends. One of my favorite memories of Tommy was when we (you, me, Tommy, Tom Wascher, and Beth Bobby) all got together and sat on the curb in front of yours or Tommy's house and decided whose house we would "paper" that evening.  What fun!!  Thanks Doug.  Glenda

Tom Wascher

I had the fortune of visiting with Tommy the night before he died. He still had a sense of humor and that winning smile. His exact words when I walked into the room were "well, I'll be damned, Tom Wascher." I hadn't seen Tommy very much between high school and our 20th reunion, but it was like time had stood still. I don't think anyone who ever met Tommy didn't immediately and enduringly like him. He was a fine person and always fun to be around. Like Doug, times at his father's ranch were treasured times, and it was only natural that Tommy turned into a "cowboy." I remember when he participated in the junior rodeo during the stock show and was thrown from a bull right in front of where I was sitting with his family. He was also stepped on, and sustained multiple lacerations and broken ribs. This never detered Tommy. I will always consider Tommy one of the most precious people I have ever known.
