Jeffrey Cobb

Jeffrey Cobb

May 8, 1945 - February 23, 2007

Jeff Cobb did his undergraduate work at the University of Houston and his graduate studies at the University of Chicago.  His wife Karen says that Jeff began his career in the banking industry, but he developed a passion for photography and spent the majority of his career as a professional photographer.  He returned to banking late in his life.

Jeff loved sports, especially baseball and Little League.  He now has a field named for him in Sterling, Virginia.  He coached throughout the 1990’s and guided the league through trying financial times.  In 1997 he became league coordinator of both the Juniors and Seniors League baseball divisions. He headed the effort for Lower Loudoun in hosting the 2001 Junior State Baseball Tournament.  And, over the years, he also served as an umpire for both league and All-Star tournament games.  He was a member of the Virginia State Tournament Umpire Association.

Jeff succumbed to lung cancer on February 23, 2007 after a private, courageous, relatively short battle.  He was 61.  He is survived by his wife  Karen and two children.
